Oklahoma Baptist placed three players on the All-Region VI Baseball team, it was announced recently.
Senior catcher Mason Reilly and relief pitcher Jordan McCavitt were joined by junior first baseman Josh Collazo.
Collazo, who hails from Tampa, Fla., broke OBU records for home runs (22), RBI (100) and runs (79). He also carried a .421 batting average for the season and was Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Year and conference winner of the Gold Glove at first base.
McCavitt, a reliever from Santa Cruz, Calif., tied the school record with 33 appearances and had a team-best 8-2 record with a 3.23 earned run average.
Reilly, a product of San Lorenzo, Calif., batted .389 with 12 home runs and 75 RBI, which is the third-highest single season RBI total in school history.
The three Bison are now eligible for All-America consideration.
Underhill awarded regional Gold Glove
OKLAHOMA CITY – St. Gregory’s senior outfielder Cory Underhill garnered more post-season awards this weekend being named to the All-Region VI team and earning the Region VI Gold Glove.
Underhill, a senior from Little Axe, Oklahoma, was honored last week with the conference awards now adds regional recognition to the list. Underhill is one of fourteen players to be nominated for Rawlings NAIA Gold Glove award in centerfield. The All-Region selection guarantees Underhill a spot on one of the All-American lists. He is the second NAIA All-American in Cavalier baseball history and the first under Coach Chris Pingry.
The Cavs finished their season in the conference tournament last week. This was their first appearance in the SAC tournament in four seasons.
