Stroud smashes unranked Mounds
STROUD — Junior Cody Pritchard and senior Taylor Jolly scored two touchdowns apiece Friday night as seventh-ranked (Class A) Stroud tore apart unranked Mounds 54-14 in a district battle.
Stroud has won all four of its district clashes after losing to Chandler in a non-district season opener, Pritchard opened the game with an 86-yard kickoff return for a TD, then added a 28-yard scoring run in the second quarter.
Jolley netted both of his touchdowns in the first quarter on runs of 11 and 51. Stroud led 27-0 after the first quarter and 46-7 at halftime.
Also scoring touchdowns for Stroud were Dallas Johnson on a 7-yard run; Richard Miller on a 53-yard pass from Beau Hubbard; Houston Crittenden on a 13-yard run and Levi Killman on a 38-yard run.
Stroud has outscored its four district foes by 178-49 after losing a 40-6 decision to still-undefeated Chandler on Sept. 4.
Stroud will continue its district season Friday night at Dewar.
