Two Wellston products claimed championships at last weekend’s competition at Brill Motor Speedway.
Steve Perkins of Wellston captured top honors in the factory stock ‘A’ feature. Perkins also finished first in the opening heat while Brian Stinson of Midwet City topped all heat 2 competitors.
Stinson came in sixth in the ‘A’ feature competition.
Chandler’s Colt Goodman was third in the ‘A’ feature.
Andrew Tillison Jr. of Wellston whipped all entrants in the ‘A’ feature of the modifieds competition.
Tillison was just third in the second heat while Casey McClaskey of Ponca City headed the heat 1 entrants. McClaskey came in fifth in the finale.
Tuttle’s Jeff Autry, the second-heat victor, was fourth in the ‘A’ feature.
Paden’s Randy Bailey notched a second-place finish in the ‘A’ feature of modifieds while Shawnee’s Kyle Goforth was third.
Tad Sweitzer of Chandler, who came in first in the opening heat of the e-modified division, also defeated all of the ‘A’ feature challengers.
Fellow Chandler product Mark Robinson, who prevailed in the second heat of the e-modifieds, finished fourth in the ‘A’ feature.
Another Wellston entry, Don Chesser, was the e-modified ‘A’ feature runner-up while Steve Robinson was third. Robinson was the opening-heat runner-up.
David Lee Lambert of Herrington, Kan., headed all entrants in the ‘A’ feature of the 2-barrel sprints.
Brill’s Motor Speedway is a 3/8 mile semi-banked red clay oval located north of Meeker.
The speedway will host a July 4 competition with the gates opening at 4:30 p.m. Competition begins at 7 p.m. and a fireworks display is also on the schedule.
General admission prices are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and students 12 to 15 years of age. Children from 6 to 11 are chrged $2.
