Oklahoma Baptist University has added senior transfer Desiree Santistevan to the roster for the 2011-12 academic year.
Santistevan, a shortstop, comes to OBU from Oklahoma Panhandle State after two seasons at Solano Community College. She led Solano to two confer- ence titles and was second-team All-Conference as a freshman and a first-team All-Conference selection as a sophomore when she batted .400.
Santistevan is from Vacaville, Calif., where she played high school softball at Vanden High School under coach Don Wakefield. She was varsity Rookie of the Year in 2006, and captained the teams as a junior and senior, earning first-team All-Conference honors all three seasons.
Santistevan is the daughter of Antonia and Kevin Santistevan and is majoring in psychology.
“OBU had everything I wanted,” said Santistevan. “It has a great reputation in athletics and academics and they have a good psychology program.”
