OKTAHA — Tyler Holton’s 2-run home run in the sixth inning gave Dale a 4-3 triumph over Oktaha Tuesday.
Dale trailed 3-2 when Holton homered to left field.
Victorious hurler Trace Dilliner improved to 2-0 by going the first 5 2/3 innings. Dilliner fanned seven, walked four and gave up five hits. Dilliner surrendered three runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Turner Coon of Dale went the final 1 1/3 innings, allowing no hits and fanning three. Coon also posted a fifth-inning sacrifice fly that tallied Tanner Goodwin. Goodwin led off the inning with a double. Goodwin went 2-for-3, including a single.
“We still need to hit a little better up and down the lineup,” Dale head coach Jerry Sanford said.
Dale, 7-3, will take on visiting Stonewall Friday at 4:30 in a varsity/junior-varsity doubleheader.
