STILLWATER — Oklahoma Baptist University claimed third place in both the men’s and women’s cross country divisions of the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree Saturday.
OBU’s men finished with 117 points, behind champion Cowley County with 90 and runner-up Incarnate Word at 112. Oklahoma Christian was fourth at 156.
Lance Goodwin had OBU’s best individual finish, seventh, at 26:11. Other top 20 finishers for OBU were Brock Stoltzfus, 11th at 26:14, and Caleb Clark, 19th at 26:54. Nathan Ellis placed 26th at 27:13 and Durrell Williams was 54th in 27:59 to round out the scoring.
The Lady Bison claimed third with 147 points while Butler County Community College won the title with 72. Midwestern State was third at 143 and Lubbock Christian fourth at 207.
Other SAC schools in the 28-team event included Oklahoma Christian, 10th at 249; Southern Nazarene, 19th at 496, and Northwestern Oklahoma State, 25th at 662.
Becca Murdock led the Lady Bison in 13th place at 19:41, followed by Natalie Pederson, 27th at 20:04, and Danielle Cummins, 31st at 20:07. Meredith Gardner was 34th in 20:12 and Alexis Taylor completed OBU’s scoring in 42nd with a time of 20:21.
Next action for the Lady Bison is Oct. 25 at the Mid-States Classic in Winfield, Kan.
