Shawnee ninth graders suffer first loss of season

Shawnee’s ninth graders dropped their first football outing of the season Monday via a 32-14 decision to unbeaten Carl Albert.
Shawnee trailed 16-6 at the half with its only touchdown coming on a 22-yard pass from C. Jay Hinex to Jeremy Barrientos. A two-point conversion attempt failed.
Hinex scored Shawnee’s second-half TD on a 1-yard run, then converted a 2-point run.
Shawnee is 4-1.
