Todd Balkin chipped in on the second hole of a playoff against Oklahoma Baptist University teammate Chase Lindsey to claim the individual title of the OBU Fall Invite at the Shawnee Country Club Tuesday.
OBU won the team event going away with a 585.
Lindsey shot a second-round best 71 to make up two strokes on Balkin on the day and force the playoff with both registering 145 for two rounds. Balkin went 72-73.
Seminole State’s Tyler Carlson finished third at 147, following his 72 on Monday with a 75 on Tuesday.
OBU’s Jed Williams and Ethan Fine tied for fourth at 148. Williams shot 72 on Friday, trimming four strokes from his first-round total, while Fine shot 74 both times through the course.
Nathan Chambers was ninth at 152 (75-77).
The Bison topped Bethany College by 38 strokes. Bethany shot 623, followed by Mid-America Christian at 635, Seminole State at 639, John Brown at 654, OBU B at 661, Southwestern Christian JV at 676, Oklahoma Wesleyan at 684 and Rhema Bible at 732.
OBU’s B team was led by Zach Myers in 17th at 160, followed by Chase Bryant in 24th at 164, Graham Billeg in 25th at 165, Colton Holland in 34th at 172 and Nicolas Scarinzi in 45th at 181.
Next up for the Bison men is the NAIA National Championship Preview Oct. 3-4 in Oregon.
