Daniel Langley recorded a personal-best 69 in finishing second Wednesday in an Oklahoma Junior golf tournament at Oklahoma City’s Trosper course.
Langley and Quade Cummings, competing in the 12-13 year-old division, both came in at 1-under-par 69 (silver tees), thus necessitating a sudden-death playoff.
Both entrants parred the first two holes — the 16th and 17th.
Then, on the par-5 18th hole, Cummings recorded a birdie while Langley recorded a par, giving Cummins the victory.
There were 18 entrants in the 12-13 division.
Shawnee’s Dillon Moreland, an entrant in the 16-18 field, came in third with a 6-over 76 (blue tees).
Several Shawnee products, including Langley and Moreland, participated Thursday in a junior tournament at the Lincoln Park East course in Oklahoma City.
Moreland, in the 16-18 division, came in fifth with 75 while Langley, in the 12-13 group, finished in a three-way tie for fourth but finished fifth after a scorecard playoff.
Talor Fisher, an entrant in girls’ 12-13, posted a 60 (9 holes) to come in third.
