OKLAHOMA CITY —
Sonic Corp. has named a new president of its restaurant operating subsidiary, Sonic Restaurants, Inc.
The Oklahoma City-based drive-in restaurant chain announced the hiring of Omar Janjua (JOHN'-jew-uh) on Tuesday.
Janjua was previously the executive vice president and chief operating officer for Steak 'n Shake Company. He also spent 18 years with Pizza Hut, Inc.
Janjua replaces Eddie Saroch, who has moved to the new position of senior vice president of franchise operations.
Sonic started as a hamburger stand in Shawnee in 1953 called Top Hat Drive-In. The company currently has more than 3,500 restaurants across the country.
