SSC offers a one-day first aid and CPR course

Seminole State College is offering a one-day course which will provide dual certification in first aid and CPR from the American Red Cross.
The “Infant/Child CPR and First Aid” class will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21 in Foundation Hall of the Haney Center.
Participants will learn how to prevent, recognize and provide basic care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in infants and children age 12 and under, how to treat common injuries and how to perform life saving CPR and first aid skills for choking.
Instructor for the course will be Connie Byers, who is certified in both CPR and First Aid. She has been an American Red Cross certified instructor since 2004.
Participants will also learn first aid skills for treating a variety of injuries such as burns, wounds, head, neck and back injuries, and heat and cold-related emergencies.
Attendees will also learn to manage sudden illnesses, strokes, seizures, bites and poisonings.
The cost if the course is $65, which includes all course material and certifications cards.
