City of Shawnee names new fire chief

Shawnee City Manager Brian McDougal on Tuesday announced that David Short, a longtime Shawnee firefighter and battalion chief, has been named chief of the Shawnee Fire Department.

Short, with nearly 24 years of service to the city of Shawnee, was selected following a four-month national search for a fire chief.
