Charlotte’s version:
I’m sitting at my desk working when my ex-mother-in-law, Peggy Ford, comes over my speaker and summons me to her office. She proceeds to introduce me to her “single” client, Gary Barnett. We exchanged polite conversation and I returned to my office. That same evening, Peggy and I were at country and western dance lesson in Oklahoma City and much to my surprise in walks Gary Barnett. Peggy just happened to mention to him that we would be there.
It was quite evident that Gary was not there for the lessons, as he was already an excellent dancer. He quickly became my new dance partner/instructor for the evening. The class comes to an end and we part ways. As Peggy and I were approaching Lincoln Boulevard, Gary pulls up next to us and motions for us to pull over. He walks back to our car and asked if I would like to ride back to Shawnee with him. Of course I said yes. I told you, he was an excellent dancer.
We took a little detour to Boy Scout Park. It could not have been more perfect. A moon lit starry sky and my very own cowboy, romantic enough for a storybook. And as the story goes, we live happily ever after!
Gary’s version:
I picked her up on Lincoln Boulevard.
