SHAWNEE, Okla. —

Editor’s Note: This letter was written in 2003 or 2004.

Dad,

I will always be your little girl, but I am 18 years old now. I’m not so little anymore. I’m finally a legal adult, responsible for all of my future actions and decisions. I have a lot of important decisions coming up. Pretty soon, I’m going to have to choose a college and decide what I’m going to do for a living. I’m growing up fast! I’m not really worried about what kind of person I will become because you have molded me into the person I am today. You have given me the confidence to believe in myself. You’ve taught me to have a positive outlook on things, that my glass is half full, not half empty. I’ve never been afraid to fail because you have always told me to always do my best and that’s all that matters. I am lucky, not every kid gets to grow up with a father who cares so much and is proud of them no matter what. I will always try my best at everything I do and I hope I will continue to make you proud.
Thanks for being the greatest dad a girl could ask for.

Love,

Kari Sue
