Katheren Marie (Eggleston) Devereaux was born May 4, 1932, in Chickasha, Okla., to Von and Ruby Eggleston. She transitioned to Glory on Monday, April 4, 2022, at the age of 89 years.

Katheren’s family moved to Meeker in 1948 where she met and married Ollen Devereaux on June 25, 1949. They moved wherever Ollen’s job took him eventually settling in Meeker. They later moved to Shawnee to enjoy their retirement years.

She is survived by her daughters, Lana Frazier and husband Earl of Chandler, Donita Cordonnier of Prague, Tonya Genn and husband Ken of Shawnee, and Kip Wheeler and husband Robert of Shawnee; nine grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; four greatgreat grandchildren; two sisters, LaVonne Devereaux and JoAnn Abbott; and other relatives and friends.

Katheren was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one grandchild.

As her last gift to the world, she lovingly and unselfishly donated her body to medical science in hopes it would help them help someone else.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Generations Church, 130 S. Oklahoma St., Shawnee.
