Wilma June (Vaughn) Jackson “Nanny” was born on February 15, 1941 in Mead, Oklahoma, to Mamie Mae “Big Momma” (Jones) and Walter Vaughn. She passed away in her home in Paden, on April 8, 2022, surrounded by family.
She was a proud 1960 graduate of Central High School in Oklahoma City, where she was active in pep club, student council, marching band and the twirlers. She proudly displayed Cardinals around her home and on her clothing. She was an avid sports fan (especially OU Sooner Football) and collector of handbags, shoes and all things QVC. She also loved sewing and embroidery.
She married Junior Cecil (JC) Jackson in El Reno on December 4, 1968. They lived in Oklahoma City, then settled in Bethel Acres until his death in 2015. She then moved to Paden, as they had planned to do together.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years; her parents and her sisters, Mary Williams, Helen Brazell and Wanda Ned.
She is survived by her sons, Keven (& Wendy) Mayfield and Todd Jackson; daughter, Dana (& Jason) Stewart; sister, Betty Chitwood; grandchildren, Megan (& Daniel) Franco, Jeremy Jackson, Ashley Aaron, Kortny (& Chris) Coleman, Jennifer (& Trevor) Ingle and Reagan Bailey (& James Smith); greatgrandchildren, Trinity, Gavin, Steven, Dayton, Hayden, Gunner, Harper, Knox L, Knox S, Bennett and Bryar. She is also survived by a niece, several nephews and a host of family and friends.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Friday, April 15, 2022 at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Paden.
