The U.S. Marshal’s Posse is a private organization honoring the U.S. Marshall’s Service which began in 1789 when George Washington appointed the first 13 Marshals. The posse has a purpose of educating about the history of the service and performing charitable acts to benefit the public. Members are not employees of the service, but equestrians who ride high in their saddles, proudly promoting the nation’s oldest law enforcement agency. Photo by Sharon Maggard
