Ramona McGuffee Scrutchins

by loving familymembers on Wednesday,July 13th, 2022. Ramonawas born on December17th 1952 in Holdenville,Oklahoma to Mickey andCarole Lipe. She graduatedfrom Shawnee HighSchool and attended University at both OklahomaBaptist University and St. Gregory’s College. Shecompleted her undergraduate degree later in life andwas named Valedictorian of her class at St. Gregory’s.She retired from the GIbson, Reynolds and BlakemoreCPA firm after a long career in accounting.Ramona married Arthur Scrutchins on March 13th,2004 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. A favorite vacationplace they regularly visited. Ramona was an avidreader who loved live music events, animals, and hergrandchildren; who affectionately called her “Monie”.She was preceded in death by her mother, CaroleLipe and her daughter, Laura McGuffee Adcock.She is survived by her husband, Arthur Scrutchinsof the home, her father Mickey Lipe, of Shawnee, ason and two step-sons: Kris McGuffee and wifeShellie of Monument, Colorado; step-son SeanScrutchins and wife Devon of Denver, Colorado;step-son Evan Scrutchins and wife Christina of

Loveland, Colorado. Five sisters and one brother:Belinda Hobbs of Shawnee, Dr. Mark Lipe and wifeCheryl of Arcadia, Oklahoma; Lisa Gillaspy ofEdmond, Oklahoma; Laura Stepp and husband Kalebof Bowie, Texas; Leslie Lipe Ainesworth of Shawneeand Marcie Meeks and husband Mark of Seminole,Oklahoma. Her grandchildren are Naomie, Nicole,Kaitlyn, Liam, Allie and Tidus. She is also survived bynumerous nieces and nephews.The family wishes to thank Doctors Merle Davisand Braden Parmer; Neurologists Elizabeth Bryniarskiand Salmon Zubair; the Elara Caring Hospice Team;and Stephanie Myers of Home Instead, Ramona’sHome Health Aide for the past four years.There will be two services. People are invited toattend either or both. A memorial, celebrating the lifeof Ramona with memories, music and stories will beheld at Walker Funeral and Cremation Services inShawnee on August 13th and 10am. At 1pm, on thatsame day, there will be a Requiem Mass at EmmanuelEpiscopal Church in Shawnee, presided by the RightReverend Poulson Reed, bishop of Oklahoma and theReverend Tom Dahlman, rector of Emmanuel. Thehomily will be delivered by the Reverend ElizabethDavis, long time friend of the Scrutchins family.In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to give to thecharity of your choice in honor of Ramona.
