Barbara Annette (Opela) Moss Stone was born on April 13, 1938 in Prague, Oklahoma. She departed this life on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 in Prague at the age of 84 years. Barbara, the daughter of Louis and Lucille (Smith) Opela, was a lifelong resident of Prague. She was a 1956 graduate of Paden High School. Barbara married Nolan Moss on January 28, 1956 in Prague. She loved planting flowers, gardening, sewing and traveling. However, nothing was as important to Barbara as spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Lucille, her first husband, Nolan Moss, two brothers, Edward and Norman, two sisters, Bertha and Agnes Coulter and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Doug and Eva Nell Burch. She is survived by her husband, Bob Stone, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Janice (Moss) and Bruce Sweet of Smyrna, Tennessee; son and daughterinlaw, Mike and Camie Moss of Spring Hill, Tennessee; brother and sisters-in-law, Richard and Jonna Opela, and Gary and Oletta Opela, all of Prague; sister and brother-in-law, Jeanie and Ronald Fields of Miami, Texas; brother-in-law, Dennis Coulter of Prague; step son, Gerald Stone of Norman and stepdaughter, Gale Fitzgerald of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandchildren, Madison Stone, Kasi Pratt and husband, Jordan, MeShae Stone, Alexandria Boudle and husband, Caleb; eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends and relatives. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Barbara’s honor to the First Baptist Church of Prague. The Stone family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, September 9, 2022 at Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Prague. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Prague, with Brother Tim Emmons and Brother Nathan Howard officiating.
