Dan Elwood Breeding

Dan Elwood Breeding, 76, of Shawnee, OK, passed away on October 30, 2022, after a valiant battle with lung cancer. Dan was born on Jan 6th, 1946, to Elwood Ambrose Breeding and Opal Claudine (Chafin) Breeding in Tulsa, OK. Dan grew up in Tulsa, OK and was baptized at Ranch Acres Baptist Church. After graduating from Edison High School in 1964, he went on to serve in the US Army. Dan served as a Combat Medic in the First Infantry Division of the US Army. He was awarded numerous medals for his service including a Purple Heart. In January 1969, he met Lenda Karen Ware, and they wed in April 1969 in Tahlequah, OK, going on to have two children, Matthew Corey, and Timothy Aaron Breeding. Both Dan and Lenda were born at Flower Hospital in Tulsa, OK. Dan attended the Spartan College of Aeronautics in Tulsa, going on to become an aircraft mechanic at Tinker Air Force Base.

Dan loved to fish, hunt, trap shoot, woodwork and watch his kids play sports. After retiring in 2008, Dan spent his time with his children and grandchildren, hunting and fishing. He loved speeding across the lake in his bass boat. Dan was predeceased by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Lenda: his sister Donna Gish; his brother Mike Breeding; his 2 children Matt Breeding and Tim Breeding; and his 3 grandchildren Anna, Ronan and Adam. A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, Nov 5th at 12:00pm at the Oakwood Cemetery in Mounds, OK. (202 S. McNabb Drive Mounds, OK 74047).
