Kathryn ”Marie” (Buley) Holbert

November 19, 1933 November 11, 2020. Tecumseh Marie lovenly knelt in awe and worship before her heavenly father on Wednesday November 11, 2020. Two years ago she was accompanied by angels as they welcomed Marie, a true earth angel, to her eternal home and into the arms of her savior, Jesus. Marie was born on November 19, 1933 to Floyd M. & Lillian Ross (Luttrell) Buley. The first of four children, Marie often referred to herself as ”the runt of the bunch,” being the smallest and quite petite and often sickly. While she may have considered herself ”runt”, anyone that knew Marie knew she was anything but a runt. She was brave, strong, quick witted, bright, kind, creative, spunky, gentle and had a love for babies and children that was displayed in a way that she carried until her final days. Not even the ravages of ten years of dementia could erase the love she had for all people, no matter their stature in life. She was only on hospice for four days, but even with death coming at her in full force, Marie still managed to tell her nurses that she loved them, just as she had the neumerous home health nurses she had off and on during her last eight years. Marie’s best talent was her cooking skills and her abilities to put people at ease and to make them laugh, as well as her singing ability to hear a song one time and remember the lyrics. Her greatest gift was her ability to make people feel loved. God provided Marie with the kindest most genuine heart. Possibly the greatest gift one could receive would have been to call Marie ”Friend”. She was known by many names because of her multiple marriages. She would have preferred only one, but life was often difficult. Despite hardships Marie remained a happy, good hearted soul that kept her beautiful attitude & kind heart always. Marie loved her father (Floyd), who preceded her on November 25, 1994, and she cherished her mother, Lillian, having lost her on October 5, 2011 at the age of 101.

Marie loved her siblings and had a most special bond with Jeanette ”Mulkey” Rose and her Danny of Seminole. She was especially proud of her brother Bill Buley & Wife Marshalee of St. Louis Ok. Marie loved family gatherings sharing laughs, good food and great fellowship with her baby sister Patricia Oblander and her husband Jack of St. Louis, OK. Marie sadly lost three children at birth or shortly thereafter. John Cletus Nichols, (51), Ernest Henry Nichols (54), and Therest Conatser (69). Marie’s heart was again broken with the loss of her beautiful granddaughter Angela L. Nichols on June 26, 2010. The truest pride and joy of Maries life was her children. Floyd ”Howard” Nichols, her loving caregiver during her most challenging last nine years with alyhemers, and his beautiful spouce Ester Marie. Jackie Eugene Nichols preceeded her on March 6, 2020. Thomas Danial ”Dan” Conatser and wife Darla and granddaughters Catherine Elisabeth of Tecumsch. David Wayne Conatser and spouce Cindy of Pearson, OK, and her grandson David Michael Conatser and spouce Tessa of McComb, OK, as well as granddaughter Cari LeeAnn Conatser of OKC. Marie was preceeded by her first husband, Bill Nichols, on October 2013. She lost her second husband, Thomas H. ”Bo” Conatser in December 96 and third George Holbert in ??

Marie had a great love for her other great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. A year and a half before her passing Marie had come home from a brief stay at a nursing home and dementia had destroyed her abilities. She didn’t know anyone, where she was, couldn’t stand or walk and sat and stared at the ceiling fan and yelled help me. Howard knew her love for music and one day under a month later, Marie got a most amazing miracle. The Willie Nelson song ”Sunday Morning Coming Down played and it seemed to light her up inside and she stood up and began to sing at the top of her lungs. She kept singing and stopped yelling help me and again became her witty, funny sweet self again. To see her again recover, get her mind and body back, being able to walk and laugh, sing and know her surrounding again after fearing she would only see decline was truly a gifted miracle only her precious Jesus could provide. We had prayed for that miracle but feared it would not come. However through her faith in Christ and the magic of music she came back to us if only for a brief time.
