Sherryl L Butler, a resident of McLoud, Oklahoma passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at the age of 65. Sherryl was born on October 1, 1957 in Frazier, Kentucky to David Sloan and Frances (Johnson) Sloan.
Sherryl spent several years in Kentucky before moving to Oklahoma. She grew up and attended school in Oklahoma City. Sherryl was known for her loving care of her dogs and according to her family she was an excellent cook. She took great pride as a consummate homemaker in taking care of her home and she loved all the family time she could receive. Sherryl was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother and she will be missed by the many people who knew and loved her.
Sherryl attended the Church of God in Shawnee. She was married to Charles R Butler in McLoud, Oklahoma on September 25, 2010 and remained happily married until her death.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father; her late husband Joe Alllen Ezell; a brother, David Lee Sloan; a sister-in-law, Sheila Ezell; a mother-in-law, Lillie Pearl; a father-in-law, Joe Pearl; a niece, Carrie Ezell, and a nephew Allen Ezell; as well as her grandparents and other extended family.
Sherryl is survived by her husband, Charles R Butler of McLoud; a daughter, Lillie Poage and husband Justin of McLoud; by three sons, Jimmie Ezell of McLoud, Anthony Ezell and wife Penny of Prague, and Joseph Ezell of McLoud; by three sisters, Sandra Bottoms of Oklahoma City and Tammi Sloan of Tecumseh and Marlene Sloan of Arkansas; one brother, Joe Sloan of Seattle, Washington; by 6 grandchildren, Whitney Ezell of Prague, Erin Ezell of Appleton, WI, Peyton Ezell of Prague, Breanna Ezell of Yanis, TX, Kinley Cooper of McLoud, and Zander Ezell of Shawnee; and by two great grandchildren, Phoenix McKenzie and Rezin McKenzie; a nephew, Kenny Howard and wife Lacey of Shawnee; a niece, Rebeca Ezell of Shawnee, and a nephew, James Perkins and wife Sandra of Oklahoma City; as well as other extended family and many good friends.
Viewing for Sherryl will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2022 from 6pm to 8pm at McElyea and Owens Funeral Group, 5106 N. Harrison in Shawnee.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 10:00am at Living Word Church in Shawnee with Amberlyn Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30pm at Middleton Chapel Cemetery in Oktaha, Oklahoma under the direction of McElyea & Owens Funeral Group of Shawnee.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Ezell, Kenny Howard, Justin Poage, Peyton Ezell, Anthony Brown, and James Perkins.
