Victor Truman Pitman

Victor Truman Pitman,age 88, passed away from this life on Friday, January
6th, 2023, surrounded by family. He was very much loved and will always hold
a dear place in our hearts.

Truman was born during the heart of the Dust Bowl on August 5th, 1934, in the
McLoud area. Truman’s focus in lifewas his family and his country. He joined the
USAF at 18 served at numerus Airforce Bases in the USA and abroad,
including a tour in Vietnam. He retired at the rank of
Master Sgt. in 1973. He went on to a career at Tinker
AFB enjoying his passion of airplanes. He loved to
garden and grew amazing strawberries. He enjoyed
traveling and reading.


He was preceded in death by his devoted wife Helen
Pitman, parents Victor and Allie Pitman, and sibling
Helen Sawyer.


Truman is survived by his best friend and devoted
wife, Cindy Pitman and her two daughters Stephanie
McClanahan, and Kim Farris, one granddaughter and
two great-grandsons.


Truman was blessed with five daughters, Marlene
Haley and husband Chuck of Harrah, Nancy Newberry
and husband Sonny of Harrah, Beth Anderson of
Miami, OK, Connie Johnson of Newalla, Debbie
Walker, and husband John of Newalla. Truman has 11
grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and numerous much-loved nieces and nephews.
Surviving siblings include Howard Pitman and
spouse Judith of Harrah, OK, Paul Pitman and spouse
June of Encino, CA, as well as numerous, much-loved
nieces and nephews.


You are welcome to attend visitation January 13th
from 4-6pm at John Ireland Funeral Home, Moore,
OK. The funeral service will be held on January 14th
at Emmanuel Baptist Church in McLoud, OK at 10 a.m.
Gravesite service with military honors will follow. We
would love for you to come and honor his life.
