Investiture honors the late Walter O. Mason, Jr. during OBU commencement

An investiture was conducted on Saturday to posthumously award Walter O. Mason, Jr., with an Oklahoma Baptist University Honorary Doctor of Philosophy degree on May 18 during the OBU Spring Commencement. Hattie Powell, the 100-year-old sister of Mason received the honorary doctorate from OBU President Dr. Heath A. Thomas. Mason was OBUs first Black professor.
