For the 33rd consecutive year, Cooper Funeral Home in Tecumseh will present its special memorial program, A Christmas Keepsake. The program will be held 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon, December 8, in the Chapel of Cooper Funeral Home.
The Christmas Tree of Remembrance will be on display in the foyer of the funeral home during the month of December. Families and friends are invited to come by the funeral home and visit this memorial.
“We hope this special ceremony will offer comfort to the families we’ve served. We want them to know we continue to care about the loved ones they’ve lost this year, as well as the grief they’ve encountered,” said J Cooper. “Getting through the holiday season is difficult for those suffering grief. The loss is felt most during this traditional time of celebration. By their nature, holidays are nostalgic. Even the happiest of memories are painful when we are grieving.”
The Tree stands with the Candle of Love, celebrating each of the lives and paying tribute to these friends and neighbors who died this year. A special Scroll of Honor lists their names in chronological order beginning December 1, 2023, through November 30, 2024. The name of each deceased loved one will be engraved on a beautiful snowflake ornament. At the conclusion of the program, the ornaments will be presented to the families the funeral home has served during the past year.
“This service holds great significance for families mourning the loss of a loved one. During the holidays, cherished memories often resurface, intensifying the grief regardless of how long it has been since the loss,” Cooper added. I am grateful for the comfort this Memorial Service offers and encourage anyone who is struggling with loss, feeling hopeless, or experiencing loneliness to attend. The love and support available at Cooper Funeral Home can truly make a difference this season.”
