TECUMSEH The Tecumseh Lady Savages hope to make improvement in 2025-26 after going 11-16 and reaching Class 4A regionals last year.Coach Eldon Gentry II will have to rely on just one returning starter and two part-time starters from last season.Senior Cadence Leba is the lone fulltime returning starter after averaging 6.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals in 2024-25.Cadence is the ultimate competitor. Cadence is always willing to do the dirty work that doesnt necessarily show up in the stat sheet, said Coach Gentry. She is our team leader and will look to have a good year in year 2 at Tecumseh. Two others who saw part-time starts and considerable action last year were juniors Atley Hill and Jaylie Anderson.Coach Gentry is seeking a breakout season from Hill.Atley has had a great fall (practice) in the gym so far and is looking to take a big step into being a key contributor for our program. Shes a great kid, has great work ethic and is always striving to improve, Coach Gentry said. Jaylie is helping the Lady Savages improve on last season. Her length and athletic ability are key strengths we are hoping for her to utilize for the benefit of the team.Four others expected to make an impact are juniors Chandler Bryant and Livia FourHorns, along with sophomore Aivah Dodgion and Lilie Tracey.Coach Gentry describes Bryant as a pure shooter.Chandler is looking to make a huge difference every night, stretching the opponents defense, said Coach Gentry. If she is open, look out, because she can catch fire in a hurry and fill it up from beyond the arc.FourHorns had a solid offseason, according to Coach Gentry. We are hoping to utilize Livias ability to score and distribute to help the Lady Savages flow on offense, Coach Gentry said.Dodgion is described as a dawg in the post by Coach Gentry due to her toughness.Aivahs physicality and mentality are her great assets. She looks to provide a dominant post presence for the Lady Savages, said Coach Gentry.Tracey should also provide size and skill in the post as well.Lilies touch, with her mid-range jumper, make her tough to guard as she is more than just a back-to-the-basket type of post, Coach Gentry said.Coach Gentry is assisted by Emmanuel Toney and Bill Grogan.
