Fall Fest will be on Saturday, Nov. 1, at Woodland Veterans Park located downtown at 100 E. Highland.
The family-friendly event will run Noon-10 p.m. and will include free rides on a 60’ Ferris Wheel.
Another free attraction planned is a ninja inspired Warped Wall. This inflatable curved wall also provides hand grips along the sides if kids need help getting to the top, followed by a slide to return to the ground. Other inflatables include a Firehouse Combo Bounce and Slide, plus a kiddie Bounce House.
During the event, Broadway Street will be blocked off to allow more room. Between Highland and 11th Street, there will be double Zip-line for ages 10+. Next door will be Bungee Trampoline fun or a ride down the Giant Triple Lane Slide! All of these attractions will be open for free from Noon to 5 p.m.
An always popular activity will be the Costume Contest. Registration starts at 12:30 p.m. at the Woodland Amphitheater, with the contest kicking off at 1 p.m. Categories for pets, kids ages 8 and under, plus kids 9-13 will compete for prizes. For a complete list of rules and prize categories for the Costume Contest, visit our Fall Fest website at www.shawneeok.org/FallFest
Close to 50 organizations and businesses will be proving booths with information, giveaways, and candy for the kids. These will be spread out all over the park, so The Kiddie Train route will take you from the back of Shawnee Splash around to the front, providing a view of the tennis courts, pickleball courts, Ferris Wheel, and even more booths on the Southeast corner of the park!
From Noon to 4 p.m., there will be a Petting Zoo to see adorable farm animals provided by A & K Family Farms. The Shawnee Animal Shelter might also be dropping by with a cute dog or two. And Twisting with Matt will be roaming the park making balloon animals for anyone who wants one!
Free Face Painting will be provided by Little Bunny and Things from 2 – 5 p.m. And while some might be packing up at that point, this means there will be even more room for the concert kicking off at 6 p.m. Mitch Wolf and the Nasty Weather Band will share some classic rock tunes from 6-9 p.m. The Ferris Wheel will still be lit up and running with free rides until 10 p.m.
Local food trucks will be available in two different areas. Four will be parked by the Giant Triple Lane Slide off Broadway right across from the park from Noon-6 p.m. Two other food trucks will be available in front of Shawnee Splash from Noon-10 p.m. Bring your cash to enjoy a snack, drink, pizza slice, sandwich, ice cream, snow cones, and more!
There will be Welcome Booths to pick up Fall Fest information as well as register for a door prize at the red and white carnival tent.
