Joyce and her twin sister,Doryce were born onJanuary 27, 1938 to JohnD. and Zula (Moon) Morrellat the “Y” nearMacomb, Oklahoma.
r a i s edalongside her two olderbrothers, Jack and Jimmy, her older sister Shirley andher twin sister Doryce. Reece, Bob, and Karol soonjoined the gang to add to the already good times at the“Y”.
She attended Macomb Public Schools where sheplayed basketball. She graduated from Macomb HighSchool.She met her future husband James “Jim” Allen, Jr.in 1952 at The Pine Theater in Tecumseh. On June 23,1956 they were married at the Broadway UnitedMethodist Church in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. They livedin Chandler and Moore until moving to Enid in 1970where they lived until 2011, then they moved toMidwest City so Joyce could be with her sisters. In2020 they moved to Broken Arrow to be near their sonand his wife.Joyce worked as an Administrative Assist for WardPetroleum for many years.She enjoyed cooking, and spending time with herchildren and grandchildren. At the age of 78 she tookup oil painting.She was preceded in death by her parents, John andZula Morrell; brother, Jack Morrell; and sisters, ShirleyJeansen and Karol Cheatwood.Those left to cherish her memory are her lovinghusband of 66 years, James “Jim” Allen, Jr. of thehome; 2 sons and 1 daughter-in-law, Jimmy Allen, IIIof Lexington, OK; Scott and Leslie Allen of BrokenArrow, OK; 4 grandchildren, Cassi Neville and HusbandJames, Anna Allen, Abbey Williams and HusbandChristopher and Riley Allen; 2 greatgrandchildren,Luca Williams and Nicolo Williams;twin sister and brother-in-law, Doryce and LewisLivingston; 3 brothers and 3 sisters-in-law, Jim andSue Morrell, Reece and LaRita Morrel and Bob andSuzanne Morrell; and other loving extended familyand friends.Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m.,Thursday, August 4, 2022 and continue through servicetime.
