Merrill Dean McBride, Jr., resident of Shawnee, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022. He was 67 years old. Dean was born on June 26, 1955 in El Paso, TX to his parents, Merrill and Mary Ann McBride. As an Army veteran himself, Dean worked at the American Legion to help other vets in need. He was also very excited to be a Papa to three young men.

Dean was preceded in death by his mom, Mary Ann and sister, Marlene Clearly.

Dean is survived by his wife, Terrie McBride, daughter, Cindy Evans, son, Chris McBride, three grandsons, his father, Merrill Sr., his baby sister, Marilyn Newton and husband Daryl, their children, Ashley, Shelbye, and Connor, Marylin & Daryl’s four grandchildren, niece, Tara Shoemaker and husband Jeff and their two children, Ashley and Aaron as well as their two grandbabies.

Dean will be available for viewing at Walker Funeral & Cremation Service on Thursday, September 29th from 9am-7pm with family present to greet friends from 4-6pm. A funeral ceremony for Dean will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022, at 10:00 am at the Walker Funeral Chapel. Following the ceremony, he will be laid to rest with military honors at Fairview Cemetery. Casket bearers will be: Austin Evans, Jordan Evans, Bryant Evans, Connor Newton, Aaron Shoemaker, and Jeff Shoemaker. Honorary casket bearer: Daryl Newton.
