Audrey Louise Roberson Goodnight, 101 of Tecumseh, passed away September 28, 2022, in Tecumseh. She was born December 8, 1920 to PH and Isabell (Lynn) Roberson.
Audrey was raised in the Pearson, Asher area and graduated from Asher High School in 1937.
She married Kenneth J. Goodnight August 30, 1944 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They were married for 52 years before his passing in 1996.
Audrey was a retired realtor and was the Postmaster in St. Louis, Oklahoma for 35 years.
She was a devoted member of the Church of Christ for many years. When World War II broke out she and her sister moved to Oklahoma City to help in the war effort by working for Douglas Aircraft for 2 years. During the war Audrey married Kenneth Goodnight, a Navy man, after his discharge. Soon after, they moved to St. Louis, Oklahoma and had two kids, a daughter Ann, and a son Stacy.
During her busy career Audrey found time to raise flowers and plant a large garden, do oil paintings, quilting, and help raise Black Angus cattle.
Audrey is survived by her daughter, Ann Laird of Asher, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Courtney Laird of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; two great granddaughters, Carley Laird and Caleigh Crowley of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; along with many loving friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, PH Roberson, Isabell (Lynn) Roberson; her son, Stacy Goodnight; husband, Kenneth Goodnight; one sister; and two brothers.
She will be remembered for her sparkling blue eyes, her kindness, her delicious food made from scratch, her many talents, her beautiful artwork, and her handmade quilts. Every stitch was perfect.
A true and loyal friend to neighbors, relatives, and church members. She always thought of others before herself. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
