Shawnee resident Wayne Cole, 85, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2022 in Oklahoma City, OK.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Walker Funeral Chapel with Rev. Justin Dunn officiating. Burial will follow at Dale

Wayne was born December 17, 1936 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Raymond Cole and Mildred (Henry) Cole. He graduated from Shawnee High School then graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University 1958. He then served 6 years in the Air Nation Guard before earning his E.D.D from Oklahoma State University. Wayne began his career teaching high school. He later was a professor at Panhandle A. & M. and then East Texas State University before retiring to help his parents with their farm. Wayne had a deep faith commitment to his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and enjoyed music and sports, especially keeping up with local schools sports teams.

He was preceded in death by his parents and longtime dear friend, Barbara Ellen Davis.

He is survived by many cousins including Regina Peevey and family, and John Little and family.
