The Indians scored in the top of the first inning by posting their only two hits of the game. Matt Johnson singled and sophomore Dakota Magby followed with an RBI single.
Turner took control with four runs in the bottom of the third. Turner led 8-1 after five innings and triggered the run-rule conclusion by plating a runner in the sixth.
Asher starter Derek Claytor (4-4) pitched three innings, allowing four runs and four hits against two strikeouts.
Turner finished with 10 hits.
Asher coach Shane Coker said his team surpassed its 10-win goal by going 15-15 on the season.
“It’s a great improvement,” Coker said. “We’ve still got a team full of sophomores and freshmen.
“Our goal was to win a game in the regional tournament.”
In its first regional outing Thursday, Asher dropped a 20-5 decision to Roff. Roff scored 12 runs in the second inning en route to a 14-hit attack.
For Asher, Johnson was 2-of-3 with a three-run home run in the second inning. Fred Oliphant had a double for Asher.
Asher then remained alive with an 8-5 triumph over Thackerville as Magby earned the pitching victory.
Magby (3-4), in a seven-inning stint, permitted five runs and six hits while striking out 12. He threw 140 pitches.
Matt Johnson led Asher’s offense with a 3-of-4 outing that included a double. Oliphant added two singles while Derek Claytor went 3-of-5. Claytor posted a double and two singles while driving in three runs.
James Linn is Asher’s lone senior.
