The city’s annual Juneteenth celebration will be held  June 13 and 14, and the committee is looking for residents to participate in the parade and vendors for the celebration.
This year’s celebration will be held in the south part of Shawnee, where the celebration originated, Dorothy Cooks said. The June 13 activities will include gospel singing. The June 14 activities will include the parade and games.
Vendors are required to reserve a spot before June 2. Residents wanting to participate in the parade should arrive at the Santa Fe Depot at 10 a.m.

Melissa Stambaugh, secretary of the Lincoln County Election Board, announced recently that Precinct 22 in Prague has changed.
Voters in the precinct formerly voted at Prague City Hall, 1116 N. Jim Thorpe Blvd. Beginning with the primary election July 29, the polling place will be Prague Fire Department Training Center, 1115 N. Jim Thorpe Blvd.

The Shawnee High School Class of ’66 will hold its next planning meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Bank, 912 E. Independence. Enter on the west side of building, south door.
The group is planning for its reunion, set for July 25-26. Anyone who knows about Class of ’66 members who might not know about the reunion should have them call Bill Torbett at 273-9167.
Teachers also are being sought so they may be honored at a reception from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, in the Shawnee High School Alumni Museum, 326 N. Union. A tour of the old high school and lunch will follow. Teachers interested in attending can call Gary Walker at 273-8389.
