BancFirst Tecumseh and the Tecumseh Housing Authority are working together to collect and donate canned foods for the families and residents of the authority’s housing units.
Through May 2, customers and Tecumseh residents may drop off canned and non-perishable food items at Tecumseh BancFirst location on North Gordon Cooper Drive.
The food will be given to the authority for distribution to the residents of the elderly and family units, and the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Section 8 housing units that the city organization administers. To jump-start the donations, the employees of BancFirst have each donated money and food items, and have created a donation box in the shape of a house, which is displayed in the bank’s lobby.
“We’re happy to partner with the Tecumseh Housing Authority on our spring food drive,” said Jane Ridenour, manager of BancFirst Tecumseh. “We hope our customers and members of the Tecumseh community will support the worthy cause and help us beat our own donation goals. Our employees are excited to get a little outside of our daily routine, while also challenging the community to get involved.”
