Shawnee resident Edward Lawrence Wagner, 72, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008, in Shawnee. 
He was born Jan. 11, 1936, in Atoka, Okla., to Patrick and Marie (Tisdial) Wagner.
Raised in the Atoka/Hugo area he moved to Vallejo, Calif., at a young age, where he finished school.  He went on to attend Rose State College. 
He served with the U.S. Air Force, and worked for over 30 years with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring as Postmaster in Wewoka. 
On May 28, 1964, he married Dixie Culpepper in Freemont, Calif.  She preceded him in death July 7, 2003. He then married Jeanette “Jan” Culpepper Aug. 30, 2003.
He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church, the VFW, a past member and officer of the American Postal Workers Union, and a past member of the Lion's Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; daughter, Cynthia Lou Ridenou; and a son: Larry, Wagner.        
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette of the home and her children, Terri Shield of Meteaire, La., and Edward Armstrong of Meteaire, La.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Danny Chambers of Shawnee, and Debi and Carl Franklin of Oklahoma City; son and daughter-in-law, Norman and Lynn Wagner of Tecumseh; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Amee Molenda, Trey and Jennifer Powers, Jimmy Don Sigman, Brandon Chambers, Darcie & Brett Hicks, Julie and Matt Adamson, Jade Wagner, Bryce Wagner, and Carolyn Armstrong; five great-grandchildren, Liam Molenda, Alaina Molenda, Leah Powers, Rickey Adamson and Evan Molenda.
Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Sharon Baptist Church with the Rev. Clint Dawkins officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery.
