Wanda (Richardson) Etchieson, 85, of Tecumseh, passed away Oct. 27, 2010, in Oklahoma City.


Wanda (Richardson) Etchieson, 85, of Tecumseh, passed away Oct. 27, 2010, in Oklahoma City.
She was born Sept. 6, 1925, in Leedy to John and Wilma Richardson.
She married Kenneth E. Etchieson Sr. July 20, 1940, Tecumseh.
Wanda’s first love was being a homemaker, but in the early 1960s she worked for Sylvania, and later until her retirement, she worked with her husband at United Builders Construction.
Wanda kept active and enjoyed bowling, square dancing and working in her garden. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and loved most being with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Carolyn McMahan-Whittern; and parents.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ken, Jr. and Betty Etchieson of Tecumseh; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Mike Keffer of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren, Jeff McMahan, Joni Kidney, Jason McMahan, Bill Etchieson, Russell Etchieson, Justin Etchieson, Stacy Bentley, and Kevin Bentley; 20 great-grandchildren; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Milton “Buster” and Theda Richardson, John and Wanda Richardson, Mike and Mary Kay Richardson, and Ronnie and Virginia Richardson; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Lena and Sam Bradley, Leoma and Larry Hines, Shirley Marcellos, Ruth Lewis, and Laverne and Dan Whittern; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at Rock Creek Baptist Church with Brother Richard Zimmer officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank Wanda’s caregivers: Sooner Health, who provided assistance in her home, Sterling House West Assisted Living Center, Choice Hospice and Tuscany Village in Oklahoma City.
