Kris (Nunley) Owens, 44, of Tecumseh, died Oct. 25, 2010, in Shawnee.
She was born June 27, 1966, to Billy Wayne Nunley and Latonia Lee Herron in Oklahoma City.
She was raised in the Pink/Tecumseh area. Following her marriage, she lived in California. She returned to Tecumseh in 1992 and has resided there since.
She was a 1984 graduate of Tecumseh High School, where she participated in track and field, winning several awards.
She married Stacy Owens June 27, 1986, in Pink.
She was a teacher at Tecumseh’s Head Start Program and was known as “Miss Kris.”
Her children were her passion, including children who were not hers. She loved being a mother. She was a mom in every sense of the word.
Survivors include her husband, Stacy Owens of the home; four daughters and one fiancé, Ashley Owens and Jarrett McCoy of Tecumseh, Lindy Daugherty of Tecumseh, Becky Owens of the home, and Tarah Owens of the home;  one son, Billy Owens of the home; one granddaughter, Kyla Rain McCoy of Tecumseh;  one grandson, Jacob Michael Brookshire of Oklahoma City; parents, Billy and Tony Nunley of Pink; one brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Stephanie Nunley of Pink; and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
