HENRYETTA – Both Prague High School cross-country teams qualified for next week’s 3A state championships by finishing in the top-five at their regional at Henryetta Saturday.

The Lady Red Devils had five runners finish in the top-20 to post a second place team finish, four points behind regional champion Adair.

Abbey Brunson led the Lady Red Devils with a tenth-place finish in a time of 13:21. Savanna Hilbun (13:33), Miranda Opela (13:38), Skyy Hilbun (13:39) and Michaela Farrill (13:40) finished 15th-18th.

Bree Huckaba and Indiana Gravelle finished 27th and 33rd for Prague.

The Devils finished in third place in the team standings behind defending state champion Kansas and Sequoyah-Tahlequah.

Zach Hickerson led the Prague boys with a tenth-place finish in a time of 18:50. Jacob Biard was 13th in 19:05.

Michael Clarke (19:40, 22nd), Tyler Meissinger (40th, 21:00) and Parker Terrell (65th, 24:13) rounded out the scoring for the Devils.

The 2A-3A cross-country state championships will be held at the Gordon Cooper Vo-Tech in Shawnee on Saturday beginning with the 3A girls race at 10 a.m.
