TULSA, Okla. (AP) — The city of Tulsa would pay $59 each day for the county jail to house its municipal inmates under a proposed agreement.

The Tulsa World (http://bit.ly/1yewZjE ) reports Monday the previous city and county jail agreement expired on Oct. 31. It required the city to pay $45 per inmate per day.

The new agreement calls for Tulsa to pay $14 more each day per inmate, but no booking fee. It's the same rate paid by the U.S. Marshal's service.

The deal must be approved Tulsa City Council, Tulsa County Criminal Justice Authority and the county Board of Commissioners.

If OK'd, the agreement would be retroactive to Nov. 1 and run through June 30.
