Shawnee City Commissioners may take action Monday evening on an OG&E proposal to provide lighting around the Shawnee Airport Trail.

In a memorandum to Interim City Manager Justin Erickson, City Engineer John Krywicki said staff recommends approval of the $207,693.20 proposal.

Avedis Foundation, as part of a larger grant, previously gave the city $147,000 to be used for the Airport Trails Lighting project. Taking into account those funds, Krywicki said the city would have to provide the difference of $60,693.20.

Also on the agenda are two proclamations. The mayor is expected to proclaim March 2015 “Red Cross Month” and March 1-7 “Severe Weather Preparedness Week.”

The City Commission meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Commission Chambers at City Hall.
