A Shawnee family is mourning the loss of a 3-year-old toddler who was struck and killed in a hit-and-run accident on Westech Road. State troopers are investigating and questioned a person of interest Thursday afternoon.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Capt. Paul Timmons said the hit-and-run occurred late Wednesday night in the area of Bryan and Westech Roads as a father walked westbound while pushing his son in a stroller.

“The dad and stroller were both struck” by a westbound white passenger car, Timmons said.

The injured father ran to a nearby home for help calling 911, he said, but the child had suffered fatal injuries.

In an effort to assist the family, a GoFundMe Account has been set up “In Memory of Aun’dreis Tramble,” that website shows.

The patrol hasn’t yet released an accident teletype outlining information about the hit-and-run or those involved, but Timmons said the investigation is ongoing.

Based on information developed from witnesses, a person of interest was being sought in the case Thursday, Timmons said. That person turned himself into authorities and was questioned by OHP investigators, but no arrests were made.

“He is still considered a person of interest,” Timmons said, adding, there “may be other people involved.”

Troopers also have the vehicle they believe was involved in the hit-and-run, Timmons said, and that car is being processed for evidence by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
