A Wanette man died in a two-vehicle collision Thursday morning in Carter County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports the 7:20 a.m. collision in Dickson involved Rowdy Anderson, 21, of Wanette, and Glenn White, 54, of Ardmore.

White, driving a 2000 Peterbuilt tractor, was stopped for a northbound red light on US 177. Anderson, driving a 1994 Dodge pickup, was northbound on US 177, when, according to the OHP, his vehicle struck White’s from behind.

The report shows Anderson, pinned for approximately three hours, was extricated by Gene Autrey Fire, Dickson Fire and Ardmore Air Park. Anderson died at the scene due to injuries. The OHP states the Dodge’s airbags deployed and a seatbelt was not in use.

White was not injured and the report shows the tractor’s seatbelt was in use.

The cause of collision is pending investigation.
