The name of a man who died in Sunday’s fatal stabbing at a Shawnee apartment complex has been released by police while investigators have forwarded the case to the district attorney’s office.

A police report now identifies the man who died as Keith Dale Knight Jr., 41, of Choctaw.

According to a police report, the stabbing occurred during an altercation in the area of Building C at Cimarron Terrace Apartments, 1810 N. Harrison.

Detective Ronnie Wilson confirmed Thursday that evidence collected during the investigation has been turned over to the district attorney’s office for a full review.

No arrests have been made.

Police responded to the apartment complex about 2:57 a.m. Sunday for the stabbing call.

When officers arrived, Knight, who had stab wounds to his torso and arm, was found at the top of a stairwell and was not breathing. Two women who reported they worked at a hospital were giving him CPR, the report shows

Paramedics arrived and pronounced Knight dead at the scene, the report shows.

Another injured person was found sitting on a curb in the area, the report shows, and a pocketknife was reportedly found a few feet away in the parking lot.

The man had injuries to his eye and kept going in and out of consciousness, the report shows, so he was taken by ambulance to St. Anthony Shawnee Hospital. He was later transferred to an Oklahoma City hospital but has since been released, Wilson said.

Detective Charles Swantek has interviewed that male suspect along with many other witnesses who were at the scene while Wilson processed the area for forensic evidence.
