David Isaac Penisten, 71, of Oklahoma City, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, in Oklahoma City.

David Isaac Penisten, 71, of Oklahoma City, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, in Oklahoma City.

He was born April 11, 1944, in Shawnee to George Isaac and Margaret Evelyn (Griggs) Penisten.

He was a 1962 graduate of Shawnee High School.

David worked in logistics management at TAFB, as well as at Triangle A & E.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1963-1967.

David loved to cook and share food with everyone. He loved to garden, can vegetables and make jelly. Most of all he was generous and loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: David and Bridgette of Dixon, California, and J.R. and Julie of Forney, Texas; five grandchildren: Chase, Nathan, Gabriella, Auriella, and Marina; two sisters and two brothers: Barbara Johanson of Warrington, Pennsylvania, Patrick and wife Claudine of Shawnee, Michael and wife Eddie of Shawnee, and Christine Hampton of Shawnee; plus a multitude of nieces, nephews, and many close friends.

Wake service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Benedict Catholic Church.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Benedict Catholic Church with Father Schwartz officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
