The Earlsboro basketball team knew they had their hands full going up against 3-time Class A Champions Glencoe in their opener Tuesday. The boys held their own but came up just short for a 113-94 loss that saw nine players foul out, six from Earlsboro.

Earlsboro started slow, with a 58-38 difference at the half in favor of the Panthers. The Wildcats recovered to outscore Glencoe 34-25 in the third and shorten the lead to 83-72 but were unable to keep up the momentum.

Derick McCormick led the Wildcats with 39 points followed by Elijah Stargell with 24 and Trey Herron with 16.

Glencoe’s Trey Lazenby led all scorers with 39 points.

The Wildcats will travel to Paden Friday where they will attempt to get their first win of the season.
