EDMOND (Nov. 30) – Three different players scored in a game-opening 8-0 run that gave Central Oklahoma a lead it never relinquished and the unbeaten Bronchos cruised past Mid-America Christian 82-69 Monday night.
Julia Mason had two layups while Sadie Mason and McKenzie Solberg both scored from close range in the early surge for UCO, which was never threatened after turning a two-point first-quarter lead into a 13-point halftime cushion.
The Bronchos led by as many as 26 in the final two periods and improved to 4-0 in their home debut. UCO starts a four-game Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association road swing Thursday at Missouri Southern.

Haley Weathers led the way with 19 points, hitting 8-of-11 shots and all three 3-point attempts. Solberg finished with 11 points, six rebounds and four assists.
Olivia Mason started the second period with two 3-pointers in a 24-second span and Megan Womack followed with a short jumper to extend the lead to 23-13.
The lead grew to 22 (65-43) by the end of the third quarter and it was a 26-point cushion at 73-47 following Madison Lee’s 10-footer at the 6:25 mark before MACU ended the game with a 22-9 run to get within the final margin.
