Michael Frank Nettles, 47, of Tecumseh, passed away Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015, in Oklahoma City.

Michael Frank Nettles, 47, of Tecumseh, passed away Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015, in Oklahoma City.

He was born March 10, 1968, in Wichita, Kansas, to Johnny A. and Christiene (VanMeter) Nettles.

Michael was raised in the Shawnee/Little Axe area. He graduated from Noble High School in 1986. Michael earned his Applied Science Associates Degree from OCCC.

He married Melissa Schulze in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, on June 7, 2008.

Michael worked as a machinist for most of his life. Most recently he worked as a tool and dye machinist for Wellmark.

He loved Semi Trucks and enjoyed going to several truck shows with his father. Michael enjoyed dancing with his mother and spending time on weekends at the pool with family. The highlight of his life was holding hands and cuddling with his baby, Mel.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eugene and Norva VanMeter and Arthur and Nellie Nettles.

Michael is survived by his wife, Melissa, of the home; parents, Johnny and Christiene Nettles of Chandler; sister, Cindy and Paul Lagueux of Moore; brother, Johnny Nettles Jr. of Chandler; grandmother, Clara Vina of Oklahoma City; niece, Amber Nettles; nephews, Jeremy and Tanner Nettles; mother-in-law, Pam Thompson of Tecumseh; father-in-law, Ken and Sally Henderson of Sapulpa; many other family and friends.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 21, at Bible Baptist Church, 700 North Tucker, Shawnee, with Brother Joe Grooms officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
