Ann Elise Springer (Hornsby) Hamilton, 85, of Shawnee, passed from this life on Oct. 5, 2015.

Ann Elise Springer (Hornsby) Hamilton, 85, of Shawnee, passed from this life on Oct. 5, 2015. She was born on June 21, 1930, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, to Walter Thomas and Audra (McPherson) Springer. They lived in Eufaula, Oklahoma, but the majority her childhood was in Okmulgee. She graduated from Okmulgee High School and attended Oklahoma State University where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.

She moved to Ada in 1965 after the death of her husband, Bill Hornsby, and later moved to Shawnee, where she resided until her death.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents and one grandchild, Patrick Vaught.

She is survived by her husband, Georgie Hamilton of Shawnee; three children: Cheryl English and husband Guy of Tulsa, Mary Jane Vaught and husband Sidney of Tuttle, Oklahoma, and John Hornsby of Norman; three grandchildren: Matthew Schaefer and his wife Katell Le Goulven of New York, New York, Sarah Schaefer-Headrick and her husband Adam of Oklahoma City, and Alicia Vaught of Shawnee; one brother: Vernon Springer (who is now deceased) and his wife Jackie of Arizona.

Ann will always be remembered for her generosity to her family and friends and her witty sense of humor. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family, traveling, cooking and shopping.

A small, private family ceremony will be held in June at Okmulgee Cemetery where she will be buried with her parents' grave.
