The Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden is partnering with Nickelodeon and Paramount+ to celebrate beloved Latina heroine Dora in the milestone 25th anniversary of the franchise. Beginning Friday, June 27 and continuing through Sunday, July 6, the Oklahoma City Zoo will feature interactive activities for kids and families inspired by the new live-action movie Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado.

Good morning, Shawnee! The temperatures are getting warmer! Please be safe this summer and remember that Shawnee Splash is a great place to cool off! Later this summer Shawnee will have new splash pads at both Rotary Briscoe Boy Scout and Optimist Parks! Be watching for updates as construction progresses. The Shawnee Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a new event in July called Freedom Fest! This family-friendly special gathering is Saturday, July 5, from 9-11 a.m.

The Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden is sad to announce the passing of Will, a 22-year-old American grizzly bear. Will was humanely euthanized on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 in his den at Big Rivers.

The annual Earlsboro Alumni Reunion was held Saturday, June 14 in the Wes Jeske Auditorium. Earlsboro Days sponsored by the Town of Earlsboro was held that morning featuring a car show, silent auction, games, vendors and food trucks on Main Street.
