MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Robby Dewayne Tiger, age 41, of Seminole County, Oklahoma, entered a guilty plea to one count of Arson in Indian Country, punishable by up to life in prison. The Indictment alleged that on December 6, 2024, Tiger willfully and maliciously set fire to a dwelling, placing the life of a person in jeopardy.

A busy day of activities wrapped up Health Week events in Shawnee last week. From Pickleball demos to bike safety, a Pawsitive Pups and Pals event, a free throw contest, and more, a full day of events was held at KidSpace Park on May 30.

We had more participants this year, and it was great to see so many folks having fun and staying active! Multi-award-winning actor and director Brett Bower, who spent several years working on Shawnee Little Theatre productions while living in Shawnee and attending OBU, will be teaching a free workshop at SLT on Saturday, June 21.

Shawnee's recent Health Week events included an Avedis Speaker Series Luncheon featuring Shamiel Gary at the Heart of Oklahoma Expo Center. Gary, a former NFL Safety, has played professionally for teams like the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills.
