Flag Day is commemorated each year in the United States on June 14. Though Flag Day is not an official federal holiday, the day remains significant nonetheless, as it traces its origins all the way back to 1777.

Seminole resident pleads guilty to federal arson charge
MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Robby Dewayne Tiger, age 41, of Seminole County, Oklahoma, entered a guilty plea to one count of Arson in Indian Country, punishable by up to life in prison. The Indictment alleged that on December 6, 2024, Tiger willfully and maliciously set fire to a dwelling, placing the life of a person in jeopardy.

Award winning actor, director to offer free workshop at Shawnee Little Theatre
Multi-award-winning actor and director Brett Bower, who spent several years working on Shawnee Little Theatre productions while living in Shawnee and attending OBU, will be teaching a free workshop at SLT on Saturday, June 21.

Shawnee's recent Health Week events included an Avedis Speaker Series Luncheon featuring Shamiel Gary at the Heart of Oklahoma Expo Center. Gary, a former NFL Safety, has played professionally for teams like the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills.
